RS Ophiuchii: Rapid early evolution of the 2021 explosion


ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT :

On August 8, 2021, the seventh explosion of the recurrent symbiotic
nova RS Ophiuchi was recorded. In my talk, I will shortly introduce
its early evolution from 9 hours before the optical maximum. Our
spectral energy distribution models revealed an early development
of the bipolar structure of the ejecta, consisting of a flared
density-enhanced equatorial disk-like region and low-density regions
located in bipolar directions. Also, I will briefly describe the effect
of the penetration of a fast-moving ejecta into the surrounding,
relatively stable stellar wind from the giant.
