PREDNASAJUCI / LECTURER : Arkadiusz Berlicki (1) Center of Scientific Excellence – Solar and Stellar Activity, University of Wrocław, Poland NAZOV / TITLE : Modelling and statistical analysis of small-scale bursts in the lower solar atmosphere ABSTRAKT / ABSTRACT : Small-scale energetic phenomena (compact bursts – CBs) are frequently observed in the lower solar atmosphere in the optical and UV spectral ranges as Ellerman bombs, IRIS bursts, hot explosions, etc. They appear as intense, short time-scale brightenings, mainly in solar active regions, such as emerging flux areas, plages, or around sunspots. Modelling of these structures using NLTE codes and statistical analysis enables us to diagnose these phenomena and determine their physical parameters. CBs can play an important role in the heating of the chromosphere or lower corona. Current knowledge about these events and the results of our recent work will be presented.
